Welcome!
Welcome!
to Wild Hearts Learning
Nestled in the heart of Humboldt County, our classes invite children to slow down, use their hands, and let their imaginations wander—without screens, just creativity and connection. Each experience is led by a credentialed California teacher, ensuring a thoughtful balance of learning, creativity, and the magic of childhood.
Little Critters*
A one-hour class for children ages 2 to 5, and the grown-ups who love them. Each class is filled with wonder, creativity, and meaningful connection — with animals, nature, each other, and the magic of early childhood.
Wild Crafters
A one-hour drop-off class for kids in grades 1–8, where stories, nature-inspired crafts, and snacks spark imagination—no screens, just creativity and connection.
🌿 *At Wild Hearts Learning, our classes are thoughtfully designed to nurture the whole child. Each lesson supports the California Preschool Learning Foundations and Standards, blending story time, creative crafts, movement, and social-emotional learning in a nature-inspired setting. While children are busy exploring, creating, and playing, they are also building early literacy, social, cognitive, and physical skills in ways that feel joyful and natural. 🌿
✨ Let your child’s love of nature blossom.
Come learn and play with us!

About Us
Our Mission
To nurture a love of learning, animals, nature, and community through playful, heart-centered experiences shared by young children and their caregivers.
Margaret is a credentialed California K–8 teacher, First Aid/CPR/AED certified, and honored as Substitute Teacher of the Year for 2023–2024. A longtime Humboldt County resident, she brings years of experience, a warm heart, and a deep love of animals and nature to her work with children.
Margaret grew up in New York, where her childhood was filled with horses, hikes, and muddy boots. Today, she shares that same love of the outdoors with her son — her greatest teacher — and brings a background in both classroom education and animal care to Wild Hearts Learning.
She holds a degree from Cal Poly Humboldt, where she completed the multi-subject teaching credential program with a 4.0 GPA.
Wild Hearts Learning is the joyful result of her
lifelong passions: teaching, animals, children, and nature.

Meet Bunnies
Bunnies is our sweet, soft bundle of joy who hops straight into your heart. He spends his days nibbling crunchy carrots and juicy watermelon, and bouncing through the grass with pure bunny bliss. On special adventures, he loves hiking in his cozy backpack, taking in all the sights and smells.
Bunnies adores gentle, quiet pets and absolutely LOVES to cuddle! He’ll happily snuggle for as long as you let him. Just before bedtime, he gets a burst of playful “zoomies,” zipping around like the happiest little fluffball. With his gentle spirit and silly bursts of energy, Bunnies makes every day brighter.
